Green hydrogen: How to speed up Europe’s decarbonisation?

Published on: 21st February, 2023

With natural gas generating 20% of our electricity and 40% of our heat in Europe, a new gas package of EU legislation aims to speed the shift to hydrogen and other renewables.

In this podcast, the EPP Group's Jerzy Buzek and Angelika Niebler discuss how the package will help through financing and smart regulation, to encourage private sector investment. Both MEPs are on the European Parliament's Industry, Research and Energy Committee, they talk about the need to switch to green hydrogen made from renewables, moving away from blue hydrogen made from other sources of energy. To ensure a steady and affordable supply of energy for homes and businesses.
